@hreintke concerning GDB RTOS I can see that rboot and spiffy are on the same directory level as gdbstub (SmingRTOS/sming/). What is the reason for moving it to SmingRTOS/sming/system/ ?

Spiffy is not part of Sming as such. It is an external c program which creates spiffs files.
rboot is for historical reason, should actually be moved to sming/services.

system is the directory for subsystems which interact on "deep level"/come from espressif.

the reason why it is not connecting, seems to be that device resets.

I tested basic_debug and basic_rboot after clean building sming RTOS with GDB Enabled, and they both crash on boot.
If I rebuild Sming without the GDB, basic_rboot works normally.

@zhivko, after flashing, reset device manually and open serial to see the debug. Does it reset?
