Hi, I’d like to work on this issue. I can replace “centres” with “centers” in the specified section following the contributing guidelines.

@gregoriopellegrino can we just delete the repetition from the quote? (i.e., everything from the comma on in the out-of-scope statement)

This is where W3C's language requirements get silly, as we quote from the EAA - and cannot change that "centre" - and then presumably have to change the spelling to say the same thing again.

Just to be clear: does the W3C publishing tools raise an error to the British spelling? If so, we should ask for an exception in this case because, as you say, we are not supposed to change the quotes.

I did not notice this, but in fact there are both quotes and not quotes ! ;-)

No, US English is just the recommendation. I've never seen it enforced. That's why I jumped in on this as we shouldn't change the quoted text but we can drop the reuse outside the quotes.
