Hidden cookie-consent window blocks clicking #3

Hello,
I implemented the cookie-consent window as described in the video using the source code provided. It all works fine, except that after accepting the terms and clicking okay, the consent window disappears, but somehow still covers (invisibly) the bottom area of the screen and blocks clicks, meaning that if I try to click the links in the footer of the page, nothing happens, they are not even highlighted as links. Any idea what can cause this or how to debug the problem?
