Subtree Filtering - Multiple Selection Nodes

Hello,

When I tried to send below, only the first interface is returned.
<rpc> <get-interface-information> <filter type="subtree"> <interface-information> <physical-interface/> </interface-information> </filter> </get-interface-information> </rpc>
Is this an expected behaviour?

I fixed a few bugs that are merged into the latest version, 2.2.0.0

If you want to test, that would be awesome. Let me see if I can get example RPC from one of my routers and make a test for your case.

Yes, that result is expected. The request you’re sending uses an empty
sub-tree filter:

<filter type="subtree">
  <interface-information>
    <physical-interface/>
  </interface-information>
</filter>

In Junos, an empty element in a … expression means:

“Match the first instance of this element, but do not return any of its
children.”

So the device stops after the first it encounters
(gr-0/0/0 in your capture) and returns just that node.

How to retrieve all physical interfaces

Use one of the following RPCs instead:

Either call will return every (and its logical
children) in the reply.
